About

In collaboration with Shared Ecologies, PRAF has been developing “River-Land Dispatches to Delhi”, the Delhi iteration of River Landscapes, a transdisciplinary multimedia initiative that reimagines rivers as dynamic landscapes shaped by multiple species, cultures, and histories, while critically examining the impacts of colonial and industrial modes of thinking on water systems.

We have been learning from hour-long closed-door online conversations with experts on the subject — including researchers, activists, journalists, writers, academics, and visual artists — whose life, experiences and work have long engaged with rivers and riverine ecologies, inviting them to share their knowledge, and perspectives on river landscapes. The contributors include Anthony Acciavatti, Arati Rao, Atul Bhalla, Bhim Singh Rawat, Glory Rose Roy, Minket Lepcha, Paribartana Mohanty, Rajyashri Goody, Sarandha Jain, Shalim Hussain, Sonia Mehra Chawla, Wency Mendes.

Partner institutions for Riverlandscapes include WE ARE AIA | Awareness in Art, Toxic Links, Chair of the Anthropocene, University of Zurich, The Citizens Archive of Pakistan, ILEA – The Institute for Land and Environmental Art, Science Gallery Bengaluru, Prameya Art Foundation, Samdani Art Foundation, and Karachi Biennale Trust.
